We are looking for a candidate who provides cross-functional leadership of all technical and go-to-market aspects of product development. They work with cross-functional leadership to define product features and roadmaps, define schedules, and manage deliverables to marketing, sales, and operations. They work directly with the engineering teams to assess technology feasibility, define schedules, and execute on project development. This role reports to the Head of Product Management.

 WHAT YOU’LL DO AS THE SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER:

  • Lead all product management activities for littleBits
  • Manage a product portfolio, containing two or more products
  • Lead product initiation efforts and product charter creation
  • Lead and oversee end-to-end product lifecycle, from product initiation through launch and end of life
  • Responsible for product timelines and risk mitigation
  • Define product features and drive product roadmaps
  • Estimate effort and task duration, managing budget and personnel activity
  • Strategically prioritize development features and tasks across marketing, engineering and design efforts
  • Work with all engineering disciplines to drive issues to completion
  • Work with the Operations Team to address quality and support issues
  • Lead prototype creation, manage test cycles and review test results
  • Track component and system costs
  • Mentor, delegate and review work assignments of junior team members
  • Direct the daily efforts of project management teams
  • Manage high level vendor and customer relationships
  • Report and present status directly to leadership at the executive level

THE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE YOU’LL NEED TO BE THE SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER:

  • 6+ years experience in engineering design, project management, or manufacturing engineering
  • B.S. in a technical discipline (preferably electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering) from an accredited institution
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Rigorous attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills; technical writing skills an advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a technical environment
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite
  • A deep understanding of the product culture
  • Extremely disciplined and organized approach to product and project management

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

  • PMI/PMP training
  • Experience using SmartSheets, Jira or similar task tracking tools
  • MBA
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience
  • Experience in an electronic toy company
  • Personnel management experience
